International SOS has provided medical and security services from its well-established PNG operations since 1994.  The second largest employer of medical professionals in PNG (after the PNG Department of Health), International SOS has a network of over 50 credentialed in-country service providers to complement our own extensive on-the-ground resources.  Our PNG medical services have ISO 9001:2008 certification.

International SOS partners with the Papua New Guinean Government to provide

  • On-the-ground medical services, equipment and supplies for PNG Government-hosted events
  • Health training to PNG Government agencies.

In addition, we provide medical and project management staffing, equipment and supplies to Australian, New Zealand and other Government agencies operating in Papua New Guinea, including the Australian and the New Zealand Defence Forces and the Australian Federal Police.

International SOS has a particular focus on building Papua New Guinea’s health capacity. We are proud to be a corporate sponsor of the Kokoda Track Foundation, and, in partnership with the Nossal Institute for Global Health, we provide funding for a PhD candidate from PNG to study an aspect of public health.
